Bruce Allen and (Ms.) Blair Hodgman 

Bruce Allen is the managing partner of our U.S. office. He is a cum laude graduate of Harvard University and a magna cum laude graduate of Boston University School of Law, where he won the Alumni Award for ranking first in his class. He is a member in good standing of the bars of the U.S. states of Ohio and Massachusetts, the Supreme Court of the United States, the U.S. District Courts for the ND of Ohio and the District of Columbia, as well as the Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society in Canada. He is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), and the Immigration Section of the Canadian Bar Association. Bruce began his legal career as a staff attorney for the Federal Trade Commission in the United States. He established his own law firm in 1983. In addition to immigration law, his practice has included extensive litigation experience in the state and federal courts, including several precedent-setting cases in the areas of civil rights and employment discrimination. An avid swimmer, biker and runner, Bruce has competed in more than one hundred triathlons.

(Ms.) Blair Hodgman is the managing partner of our Canadian office. She is a cum laude graduate of Tufts University and a cum laude graduate of Boston University School of Law. She is also a member of the Ohio and Massachusetts bars, the bar of the Supreme Court of the United States, the U.S.District Courts for the ND of Ohio and District of Columbia, and the Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society. She has served as Chair of the provincial Immigration Section of the Canadian Bar Association and several terms as the Vice Chair of the Canada Chapter of the American Immigration lawyers Association. Blair has served as a panel presenter at many CBA conferences, and is a well known spokesperson on immigration and citizenship issues in Atlantic Canada.  Blair began her career as an associate at Jones Day in Cleveland, one of the largest law firms in the world. Her career includes extensive litigation experience in both civil and criminal law. Blair is an active runner, and has won many first place prizes.

Both Bruce Allen and Blair Hodgman are fully licensed and qualified to practice both U.S. and Canadian immigration law. Their practice consists exclusively of immigration law. There are at most a few dozen lawyers in the world with these qualifications. Bruce and Blair have a unique ability to counsel clients from around the world who are considering working and living in the United States or Canada.
